A Repair Cafe is a free event that promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things out.
The New River Valley TimeBank, in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, hosts Repair Cafe events twice a year, in the spring and the fall. TimeBankers and other community volunteers are on-hand to make repairs, as well as provide instruction for those who want to learn to do their own repairs. Services available usually include furniture and small appliance repair, clothing repair and alterations, and knife and tool sharpening.
